Thiess is looking for a Network Engineer to provide advanced ICT network support and help shape reliable communications services across its global environment. What you will do

  • Provide technical expertise to the ICT function by delivering and supporting network solutions.
  • Help create, document, and apply network policies and standards to maintain a dependable communications environment.
  • Own the upkeep and support of critical infrastructure components.
  • Handle communication, troubleshooting, triage, and resolution of network incidents.
  • Deliver incident support, investigation, feedback, escalation, and closure for requests raised through the Thiess Helpdesk.
  • Review the services being delivered to make sure they are appropriate, economical, and performing well.
  • Work closely with business representatives and key stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships.
  • Develop and maintain ICT architecture standards, infrastructure standards, and other related standards as needed.
  • Keep all systems and network services available when the business needs them and performing to expectation.
  • Maintain security systems to help maximize data protection.
  • Monitor systems for emerging problems and future capacity needs.
  • Supervise installation and maintenance of relevant hardware and software.
  • Produce and update process documents, network policy documents, and recommendation papers.

  • Strong understanding of IP networking and related protocols such as TCP, UDP, RTP, and DMVPN.
  • Solid knowledge of VPN technologies in both MPLS and internet-based environments.
  • Good grasp of hierarchical network design concepts and the OSI model.
  • Practical knowledge of cabling standards and methods used in the industry.
  • Working knowledge of Voice over IP.
  • Strong foundation in network design principles.
  • Strong knowledge of routing protocols, especially OSPF and BGP.
  • Working understanding of internet registrars.
  • Advanced knowledge of wireless standards, spectrum analysis, surveying tools, Wi‑Fi security, and RF.
  • Advanced experience implementing wireless mesh networks, with in-pit or highly mobile mesh exposure preferred.

  • Experience resolving wireless and wireless mesh issues.
