- Lead enterprise network deployments, including the installation and CLI-based configuration of Cisco, Juniper, and Meraki hardware.
- Utilize sophisticated diagnostic tools such as VIAVI and NetAlly to validate Fiber and Ethernet circuits, ensuring they meet stringent Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Serve as the primary field contact for the Network Operations Center (NOC), assisting with the activation of static IP blocks and complex routing configurations.
- Perform in-depth audits of client server rooms (MDF/IDF) to optimize equipment placement and extend network demarcations.
- Ensure the reliability of network infrastructure by verifying that physical layers (Fiber/Copper) are spliced and terminated according to enterprise standards.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Possess at least one of the following certifications: CCNA (Routing & Switching) is mandatory, with CCNP or CCIE being highly preferred. Alternatively, a Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS or CompTIA Network+ with substantial field experience will be considered.
- Demonstrate deep expertise with hardware including Cisco ISR/ASR routers, Catalyst switches, Juniper MX/EX series, and Meraki MS/MX devices.
- Exhibit proficiency in core networking protocols such as TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and SD-WAN architectures.
- Utilize network analysis tools like Wireshark for packet-level analysis to diagnose latency or jitter problems.
- Familiarity with Fiber Optic standards (GPON/Active Ethernet) and the ability to operate an OTDR or Fusion Splicer is required.
Soft Skills & Requirements
- Exhibit strong consulting abilities, capable of engaging with Fortune 500 IT professionals as an equal.
- Employ a methodical and critical thinking approach to isolate and resolve network issues from the point of connection to the core network.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and be prepared for daily travel to client sites.
- Possess the physical capability to lift and install heavy enterprise equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in professional data center environments.
What Success Looks Like
- Achieve first-visit resolution for complex network problems, such as routing loops or configuration errors, by leveraging advanced Cisco expertise.
- Maintain network integrity by ensuring all client connections are clean, well-documented, and operate at peak performance.
- Build client confidence by acting as a trusted advisor to IT managers, assuring them of the network's reliability.
