Planning Manager

Role overview

Vallen Asia is looking for a Planning Manager to lead planning, purchasing, and inventory control activities. The role is focused on keeping stock at the right level, supporting strong service performance for customers, and aligning planning and procurement execution with the company’s overall priorities.

In this position, you will guide a team responsible for building and carrying out a solid planning and procurement approach. You will also work across functions such as sales, logistics, warehouse, operations, procurement, and key accounts to improve availability, reduce supply risks, and support business continuity.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and track supply chain planning approaches that keep costs within target, create savings opportunities, improve working capital, and maintain readiness to meet customer demand.
• Handle planning priorities, operational exposure, and supply chain interruptions to protect continuity of business and service reliability.
• Review stock positions and take action to reduce excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory, including items carried at own risk and follow-up on stock depletion efforts.
• Set up and maintain procurement and planning processes for sourcing, receiving, and monitoring goods so that quality, cost, and delivery outcomes are optimized.
• Create and roll out procurement and planning policies, procedures, and improvement initiatives that address process gaps, strengthen compliance, improve efficiency, and increase ERP/MRP usage.
• Work closely with Procurement, Warehouse, Logistics, Operations, and Key Account/Sales teams to support timely replenishment, smooth operations, and customer order fulfilment.
• Lead, coach, and develop the planning team while building a culture of performance, teamwork, ownership, and continuous improvement across departments.
• Maintain strong customer service standards through effective planning, communication, and day-to-day operational support.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a closely related field is required.
• Prior experience in procuring MRO products is needed.
• Good commercial understanding and a background in managing complex supply chains and cost structures.
• Ability to think at a strategic level and communicate clearly with stakeholders at different management levels.
• Comfortable working through uncertainty and applying practical problem-solving methods.
• Strong influencing skills with the ability to build productive partnerships across multiple teams.
• Capability to manage several projects at once and deliver under tight deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams independently and carry out functional responsibilities effectively.
