Role overview
Ryanair is hiring a Powerplant Engineer to join its engineering team in Dublin. This position sits within the Technical Services / Engineering function and supports a growing airline operation targeting 800 aircraft and 300 million guests over the next decade. The role reports to the Head of Powerplant or Deputy Powerplant Manager and is office-based.
What the role involves
The Powerplant team supports the Ryanair Group fleet of Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 aircraft across continuing airworthiness activities, with a focus on engines, APUs, and thrust reversers. The position offers exposure to a wide range of technical and operational work, including coordination with OEMs, MRO providers, and internal stakeholders.
- Work with engine, APU, and thrust reverser technical matters as part of continuing airworthiness support.
- Engage with OEMs such as CFM, Pratt & Whitney, Boeing, Airbus, Honeywell, and others to resolve technical issues.
- Review engine workscopes and assess repair specifications.
- Coordinate with MRO partners to help ensure engine repairs and overhauls are delivered on time.
- Support stakeholders in the execution of engine removal planning and scheduling.
- Evaluate and implement Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and other technical documents.
- Help identify reliability improvements alongside the Reliability team and OEMs.
- Prepare technical reports and deliver presentations.
What is needed
Applicants should have a relevant engineering degree or an EASA Part 66 maintenance licence. At least one year of experience in Technical Services, CAMO, or Engine MRO is required. Familiarity with CFM56 and LEAP engines is beneficial, especially with workscope evaluation. A solid understanding of EASA Part M, Part CAMO, and Part 145 regulations is expected, along with strong communication, organization, and computer skills.
