Role overview
This contract opportunity is for a Process Analyst III based in Toronto, Ontario. The role follows a hybrid arrangement with two onsite days each week, although that may change. Reporting to the Manager, TDS G&C, the analyst will support the testing of internal controls for second-line functions such as Compliance, Risk, and AML. The focus is on making sure control testing is carried out thoroughly, efficiently, and in line with program requirements.

- Hourly pay: C$25.00 to C$30.00 CAD
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday during core business hours
- Travel: Not required
Key responsibilities
The position centers on control testing, risk assessment, and process improvement across TDS businesses. The successful candidate will help identify weaknesses in controls, track exceptions, and support remediation efforts while working closely with stakeholders.
- Carry out internal control testing efficiently and in alignment with second-line function expectations.
- Help design and maintain testing programs for both design and operating effectiveness, using appropriate sampling approaches under TD guidelines.
- Test key controls and requirements across TDS businesses, then analyze, document, and follow up on exceptions until closure.
- Support the review of key risk indicators and use findings to improve the program.
- Work with business teams to create remediation plans and address underlying root causes for identified control gaps.
- Look for ways to strengthen processes, improve testing efficiency, and enhance the overall testing experience.
- Partner with business stakeholders to improve controls and close documentation or process gaps with support from second-line functions.
- Contribute to ad hoc risk- and control-related initiatives and strategic activities.
- Maintain strong communication within the team by sharing updates, issues, lessons learned, and useful information.
Required experience and qualifications
This role calls for a strong background in risk, governance, audit, and control testing, along with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Hands-on end-to-end RCSA experience is essential; operations-only exposure is not sufficient.
- Strong working knowledge of governance, risk, and control practices, strategies, and methods.
- Background in audit, quality control testing, or similar client testing approaches.
- Awareness of current and emerging trends in the field.
- Ability to use analytical tools, data analysis techniques, and reporting methods.
- Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word.
- Advanced Excel capability, including macros, complex formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidence working with high-stakes stakeholders, including front office teams and traders.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and build productive working relationships.
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and self-directed approach.
- Good judgment and sound decision-making ability.
- Strong organization, prioritization, and research skills while handling multiple deadlines.
- Ability to manage confidential information carefully and discreetly.
- High attention to detail and comfort working under tight timelines.
Preferred background
- Experience in wholesale operations or wholesale banking, including derivative operations, is an advantage.
- Exposure to Aris or similar process-mapping tools is preferred.
- Familiarity with TDS business operations and workflows would be helpful.
Education
A bachelor’s degree is required.
Experience requirements
- Overall relevant experience: 5 to 7 years, ideally in risk, audit, or compliance.
- At least 2 years of RCSA experience.
- At least 3 years in quality assurance, audit, and/or quality control testing.
- At least 3 years of experience in risk and governance.
- Experience performing end-to-end risk and control self-assessment.
- Wholesale banking or wholesale operations experience is preferred.
- Derivative operations or broader wholesale operations exposure is preferred.
- About 1 year of wholesale banking experience is a plus.
