Role Summary

sKids is hiring several Programme and Assistant Programme Managers for sites in the North Shore area. The exact site will be confirmed during the interview process.

This position involves being the welcoming point of contact for children before and after school, helping to create enjoyable, well-run sessions. The role requires a commitment of 10 to 15 hours per week, scheduled Monday to Friday.

Morning shifts run from 7:00 am to 8:30 am. Afternoon shifts run from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm, and availability from 2:30 pm onward is essential even though finishing times may differ. There may also be opportunities to work school holiday programme hours between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm.

Key Duties

• Oversee the daily operation of the sKids programme, from opening preparations through to end-of-session pack-down.
• Supervise a large group of children and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging atmosphere.
• Design and run structured activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games, excursions, baking, drama, and music.
• Use positive behaviour guidance to manage challenging situations and support children with different needs.
• Act as the main onsite contact for parents, caregivers, and school staff, while building strong working relationships with them.
• Guide, support, and delegate tasks to Programme Assistants to keep the team accountable and the programme running well.
• Plan ahead by organising materials, preparing activities, and setting clear expectations for the team.

Eligibility and Requirements

Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand, such as a valid visa or citizenship.

Reliable transport is required to reach the Windy Ridge and Sunnynook locations, along with additional new North Shore sites as they open.

Relevant leadership experience working with groups of children is expected, including experience in OSCAR programmes, teaching, coaching, childcare, camps, or similar settings.

Candidates should be confident handling challenging behaviour and high-energy environments while staying calm, firm, and solution-oriented.

The role requires experience taking responsibility for programmes, teams, or operations rather than only assisting.

Strong communication skills are needed to work effectively with parents, schools, and colleagues.

Applicants must be over 20 years old in line with the Social Security (Childcare Assistance) Regulations 2004.
