Role overview

This position is for an Inspector in Assembly, responsible for checking that products consistently meet Molex quality requirements. The role focuses on inspecting assemblies, components, and materials accurately so production can run smoothly and reliably.

Team environment

You will join the DSS division and work alongside design engineers, production staff, process engineers, and quality teams including MQA/AQP/Sourcing. The group works together to maintain strong quality compliance and drive continuous improvement across Singapore operations.

Key duties

  • Carry out in-process quality checks and final inspections based on inspection plans and work instructions.
  • Examine assemblies and sub-assemblies for workmanship, cosmetic appearance, dimensions, and functional performance.
  • Confirm that the correct materials, components, labels, and packaging are used during assembly.
  • Use inspection and measurement equipment such as OGP/View systems, vernier calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and go/no-go gauges.
  • Handle inspection tools properly and follow the required care and calibration methods.
  • Detect, isolate, and document non-conforming items, and raise inspection trouble reports according to procedure.
  • Capture inspection outcomes accurately in checklists and EQC systems to preserve complete audit traceability.

Requirements

  • Secondary school education or an equivalent qualification.
  • Training in SPC and/or completion of an Operators’ Certification Program.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in the electronics industry.
  • Working knowledge of parts inspection.
  • Ability to operate measurement equipment such as OGP and TM scope.
  • Prior experience in QA inspection.

Compensation

Basic salary: S$950++ per month. Additional pay includes a transport allowance of S$70 and an attendance bonus of S$50.

Working arrangement

This is a permanent role and shift rotation is required. The standard work week is 5 days. The employee must be at least 18 years old and comply with the following work rules: no more than 12 hours per day, no more than 60 hours per week, and no more than 6 consecutive working days.

Shift patterns may include the following: 9-hour day schedule (8.30am–5.30pm, Monday to Friday); 9-hour rotating shifts with morning (8.30am–5.30pm) and night (11.30pm–8.30am); 9-hour three-shift rotation with morning (8.00am–5.00pm), afternoon (2.00pm–11.00pm), and night (11.00pm–8.00am); 12-hour rotating shifts with morning (8.30am–8.30pm) and night (8.30pm–8.30am) on either Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday; and a 12-hour 3T2S rotation where morning and night shifts run according to the working schedule. The work week runs Monday to Sunday; for all shift patterns except 3T2S, Sunday is a rest day and the remaining non-working days are off days. Leave, overtime, and benefits
