Job summary

The Restaurant Manager supports the Restaurant Leader with day-to-day restaurant operations and helps uphold Raising Cane’s standards and culture through shift management responsibilities.

Work environment

This position is based in a fast-paced kitchen setting and requires extended physical activity such as standing, walking, lifting, and bending. The role also involves guest interaction and work both inside and outside in changing temperatures. Team members may be exposed to food products, common allergens, industrial equipment, and commercial cleaning chemicals, and must use personal protective equipment as required.

Key responsibilities

• Keep operations aligned with Raising Cane’s standards across all restaurant areas during the shift
• Serve as the manager on duty, including opening and closing the restaurant
• Oversee cash handling and maintain accountability
• Enforce company policies and operating standards
• Run shifts in line with operational and safety requirements
• Use required tools, forms, and logs to manage shift execution, record outcomes, and take corrective action when needed
• Direct crew members during the shift
• Deliver strong customer service
• Use the recognition and rewards program for restaurant crew members
• Approve manager-level actions such as discounts, promotions, and timeclock overrides
• Maintain cleanliness and ensure the restaurant stays in good working condition
• Complete other assigned duties as needed

Requirements and qualifications

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to handle changing priorities
• Self-motivated, adaptable, energetic, and skilled in written and verbal communication
• Comfortable working independently as well as with a team
• Able to identify issues, set goals, follow through, and turn plans into action
• Experience or skill in staffing, scheduling, people management, and cost control
• Comfort using technology systems such as Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, and able to learn new systems quickly
• Available to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends, and able to travel for work-related events and training when needed
• Must complete all required Raising Cane’s training programs
• At least 1 year of restaurant or retail management experience
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
