Team Lead - Cybersecurity

Role overview

In this position, you will lead the ECS Application Security team and bring together strong engineering depth with a commitment to building and coaching high-performing people. Working in an agile, cloud-first environment, you will help define technical direction, shape key decisions, and deliver security solutions for large-scale enterprise systems. The role is focused on enabling innovation while strengthening protection for customers and the business.

Team leadership and growth

• Set the team’s direction, plan, and long-term vision, then actively drive execution against it.
• Support engineers and analysts through mentoring, coaching, and ongoing professional development.
• Handle workforce planning and align performance objectives with business needs.

Delivery and execution

• Bring strong planning and organizational ability to manage several priorities at once.
• Take ownership of the roadmap and the broader vision for the team’s work.
• Break the roadmap into clear phases and milestones, and ensure delivery against them.
• Work closely with stakeholders to produce outcomes that matter to customers and the business.

Engineering excellence

• Champion Secure SDLC adoption, including secrets management, SAST, SCA, and DAST where relevant.
• Strengthen automation, testing depth, release speed, and production stability.
• Set and uphold technical standards, guide code reviews, and provide architectural direction.

Strategic influence and stakeholder management

• Collaborate with leaders across engineering, business, and operations to align security priorities.
• Use data and metrics to guide decisions on trade-offs, capacity, and risk.
• Communicate progress, blockers, decisions, and results clearly to peers and senior leadership.

Continuous improvement and thought leadership

• Keep up with new threats, tools, and frameworks in the security landscape.
• Encourage ongoing improvement through metrics, retrospectives, and knowledge-sharing.

Experience and expertise

The role calls for extensive experience in IT, along with several years leading both people and technical work. You should have a strong background in cloud-native software delivery, Secure SDLC practices, systems architecture, Agile delivery, AWS, and DevSecOps. Experience using analytics and metrics to shape strategy is important, as is the ability to influence others and work across functions. Coaching capability and a track record of turning vision into delivery are also essential. Experience with tools such as secrets scanning, SAST, DAST, and SCA would be an advantage.
