Role Purpose

The Vessel Operations Engineer will report to the Project Operations Manager and contribute to multiple projects within the Operations Department. The role is centered on providing technical and operational support across tendering and project delivery phases, while maintaining strong alignment with safety, quality, and engineering requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support engineering activities by reviewing documents, proposing improvements, and assisting with planning and execution tasks.
• Assist offshore and onshore teams across installation, diving, pre-commissioning, trenching, and hook-up scopes.
• Coordinate equipment, materials, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure operational readiness and compliance.
• Maintain adherence to QA/QC and HSE requirements, including active participation in risk reviews and safety meetings.
• Oversee important stages of vessel mobilization and demobilization, loadouts, and other critical offshore operations.
• Contribute lessons learned and improvement ideas to strengthen procedures, efficiency, and cost control.
• Provide technical support to the commercial team for proposals and contract-related matters.
• Help ensure smooth execution during mobilization, testing, and installation activities.
• Lead and coordinate a team made up of junior engineers and draftsmen.
• Ensure installation documentation is completed and issued on time.

Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.
• Degrees in other engineering disciplines may also be taken into consideration.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in offshore oil and gas or EPC environments.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Solid hands-on experience with offshore oil and gas installation works, including jackets, topsides, bridges, and heavy lifting operations.
• Confident use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Project.

Work Conditions and Offer

• This is a permanent contract in a project-based role.

• Working schedule is 45 hours per week, arranged as 9 hours per day across 5 days.
• Position location is Doha, Qatar.
