About the Company
This role sits within Lids’ retail operations and is intended for 3rd Key opportunities in the broader local area. Since vacancies at individual stores are listed separately, candidates are encouraged to submit applications directly to the locations they prefer.
Role Overview
The 3rd Key position supports store performance by driving sales, protecting company assets, maintaining standards, and helping supervise associates. The role combines customer service, operational control, and day-to-day leadership support.
Sales and Customer Experience
- Help improve sales results through strong customer service.
- Work toward or beyond company targets for individual performance metrics.
- Provide structured feedback on associate performance, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement while staying aligned with company goals.
- Follow visual merchandising standards, including product presentation, signage, and store cleanliness.
- Maintain a polished professional appearance in line with the dress code policy.
Operational Duties
- Safeguard company assets in accordance with LIDS retail policies.
- Help build store schedules that ensure proper coverage while meeting wage-control guidelines.
- Manage inventory processes accurately, including receiving, transfers, price changes, and product counts.
- Keep required documentation and records in line with company procedures and applicable state and federal laws.
- Open and close the store when needed, following the Operations P&P Manual.
- Follow all LIDS policies, procedures, and operating guidelines.
Team Support and Supervision
- Take part in LIDS training programs and consistently follow up on sales and task goals.
- Support the hiring and onboarding of store personnel, including training on store operations and procedures.
- Encourage associates to comply with company rules, especially around inventory, cash, and property security.
- Step in to perform subordinate duties when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with employees across all levels of the organization.
- Handle additional responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or an equivalent qualification, plus 1 year of related experience.
- Proven ability to drive sales while keeping losses low.
- Strong people skills and the ability to speak clearly and professionally.
- Comfort using a computer and related software applications.
- Ability to lift as much as 50 pounds.
- Capability to climb ladders and work overhead with hands.
- Ability to remain standing for up to 100% of the work shift.
- Must be able to work without direct supervision.
Preferred Education
Below high school graduation or high school graduate/equivalent.
