About WAO Group
WAO Group is a Gold Odoo implementation partner that supports organisations in planning, deploying, and getting measurable value from Odoo across its full ecosystem, including accounting, inventory, manufacturing, CRM, point of sale, e-commerce, and related tools. The business was established by accountants and industry specialists, and it focuses on continuous learning to stay aligned with evolving technology so clients can keep up as well.
Role overview
This position is a fully remote opportunity for candidates based anywhere in Australia. The role includes occasional travel for client site visits and industry roadshows, along with one annual team gathering in Port Macquarie.
The Account Manager is responsible for the client relationship from the point of onboarding onward. This person becomes the trusted contact who helps customers get the most from Odoo and the wider connected ecosystem, while also identifying where additional support and value can be added.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and nurture strong client relationships by understanding each customer’s business and objectives and helping them succeed with Odoo.
- Take ownership of support and optimisation revenue by identifying cross-sell, upsell, and new service opportunities.
- Receive project handover from the delivery team once implementations go live and ensure a smooth move into ongoing account management.
- Spot and pursue new opportunities such as additional scoping work, ad-hoc hourly engagements, new app deployments, and referrals.
- Plan and coordinate regular client check-ins so accounts stay healthy and issues are addressed before they drift.
- Collaborate closely with pre-sales, solutions, and delivery teams to maintain a seamless customer experience across the full journey.
- Keep CRM and helpdesk records accurate and current so actions and follow-ups are not missed.
Must-have skills and experience
- Proven ability to build relationships and manage accounts, with a genuine interest in supporting clients.
- Comfort using CRM systems, helpdesk platforms, and Google Workspace in daily work.
- Confidence working with AI tools and enthusiasm for the direction AI is taking.
- Strong organisation and proactivity, with the ability to manage several accounts at once without losing track.
- A practical, action-oriented mindset and a strong bias toward getting things done.
Desirable background
- Experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
- Exposure to ERP, SaaS, or other business software in a pre-sales, post-sales, or customer success role.
- Familiarity with Odoo or comparable business systems.
Additional information
This role is open to applicants anywhere in Australia. Travel is occasional and may include client visits and industry roadshows. The team also meets once a year in Port Macquarie.
