Position Overview

This role is centered on expanding sales profitably within an assigned customer base and meeting sales growth goals. The account manager will identify new prospects, increase cross-sell and core-sell opportunities with current customers, and help create a smooth customer experience by making use of White Cap tools and resources. The role requires the use of a company vehicle or personal vehicle for work-related travel more than 20% of the work week. If hired, the company will complete a motor vehicle record review, and a satisfactory MVR is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out field-based sales activities through direct in-person contact with prospective and existing customers.
  • Expand customer value by identifying and closing cross-sell opportunities.
  • Work closely with members of the sales team and shared services support staff to deliver sales growth plans.
  • Prepare forecasts, pursue new leads, and bid on new business opportunities, including customers, markets, and related services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers and influencers across all levels of customer organizations.
  • Collaborate with customers, vendors, Credit, and Accounts Receivable teams to resolve service issues quickly.
  • Keep product knowledge current and apply it effectively in customer interactions.
  • Complete all required sales administration reporting and attend company meetings on a regular basis.

Work Scope and Environment

The position calls for increasing independence in handling work, with guidance mainly provided for unusual or complex issues. Performance is generally reviewed periodically by a supervisor and/or direct customers of the process.
