Role Overview
This remote contract position is for an Arabic Quality Assurance Lead who will help uphold the quality and consistency of Arabic AI training work. The role focuses on reviewing AI-produced Arabic content as well as trainer and QA outputs, comparing them against project instructions, and delivering clear written feedback. You will ensure contributors meet expectations around accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural fit, meaning retention, formatting, and rubric compliance.
You will also identify repeated quality problems, share updates with trainers and QAs, assist with onboarding, keep project documentation current, and help re-engage contributors who are not actively working. The position demands strong Arabic and English communication, close attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate quality processes across remote teams.
This is part of a fast-growing AI data services organization that supplies training data to major AI companies and foundation-model teams. Your work will directly support the improvement of Arabic-language AI models by helping ensure the data is natural, accurate, culturally appropriate, and aligned with client needs.
There is no immediate project attached to this position right now. However, if you are a fit, you may be contacted first when relevant opportunities become available, and you may also be added to future expert-network projects.
Selection Process
Candidates will go through an AI-based interview, a task specific to the domain, and a final conversation with a recruiter.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Arabic, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or a closely related field.
- Native-level or near-native Arabic ability, with strong reading and writing skills.
- Strong English proficiency for understanding guidelines, coordinating with teams, and giving feedback clearly in English.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in Arabic writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, annotation, or similar language-review work.
- Solid knowledge of Arabic grammar, spelling, punctuation, diacritics, right-to-left formatting, tone, register, Modern Standard Arabic, and regional Arabic differences.
- Ability to assess Arabic content using detailed rubrics and detect problems such as mistranslation, overly literal wording, unnatural phrasing, wrong register, dialect mismatch, invented claims, unclear meaning, or inconsistent terminology.
- Prior experience guiding or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs is a strong advantage.
- Comfort working in fast-paced remote environments with tools such as Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management platforms.
- Strong organization and attention to detail, including the ability to maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding resources, honeypots, and related documentation.
- Exposure to AI training, data annotation, large language models, prompt/response evaluation, or rubric-based LLM QA is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Monitor quality by sampling Arabic items, identifying issues, sharing ongoing feedback through direct messages, and escalating repeated or serious problems.
- Keep trainers and QAs informed on Discord about new guidelines, project updates, workflow changes, and quality expectations.
- Answer trainer and QA queries promptly and clearly, especially on Arabic wording, grammar, register, dialect, right-to-left formatting, translation accuracy, terminology, and cultural context.
- Manage contributor activation by contacting inactive or idle trainers and QAs, encouraging participation, tracking follow-ups, and noting availability concerns when necessary.
- Build and maintain Arabic project documentation such as style guides, trackers, FAQs, quality notes, examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials.
- Plan and conduct onboarding or training calls to explain project expectations, workflows, rubrics, quality standards, and Arabic-specific style rules.
- Make sure trainers and QAs apply Arabic language rules consistently and understand any updates as projects change.
- Suggest process improvements, highlight recurring quality gaps, and help create scalable QA systems for Arabic-language projects.
