Stellenbeschreibung
Role overview
This position offers the chance to take full responsibility for audits from beginning to completion, including direct communication with clients. From the first day, you will own your client portfolio, handle the technical aspects of audit work, organise and prioritise your own tasks, and support the wider team with planning and delivery.
Client mix
The portfolio includes organisations from a variety of industries, with an even split between not-for-profit and for-profit entities.
Team environment
You will join a collaborative and approachable audit team that values shared learning, technical discussion, and a positive working atmosphere. The group is small locally, but it works closely with the national audit team, giving access to broader training and development opportunities. As a licensed audit firm, the business also handles work and experiences that smaller firms may not offer.
Working hours and overtime
The usual week is 37.5 hours. In peak periods, working hours may increase to between 45 and 50 hours per week. Any extra time is recorded under a time-in-lieu arrangement, allowing you to either build up additional leave for a longer summer break or receive payment for the extra hours.
What the firm provides
The firm places strong emphasis on client service, staff development, and delivering practical business solutions through trusted relationships. It offers a lively and supportive workplace where learning is continuous and employees are encouraged to take ownership of their roles. Staff can also join funded sports teams and take part in a range of social activities.
Location and culture
Located in Taranaki, the firm values work-life balance and aims to help employees enjoy the opportunities the region offers. Its workplace culture is built around family, quality, respect, and passion, with initiatives that support these values across the team, clients, and wider community.
Candidate profile
To succeed in this role, you should bring strong technical knowledge of IFRS and IPSAS reporting standards, a sharp eye for detail, and a genuine interest in commerce and how different businesses operate. You should also have CA qualification or be working toward it, with at least four years of experience in a CA firm. Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members is also important, along with exposure to a range of industries and business types.
How to express interest
Applicants who feel this opportunity matches their background and interests are invited to submit an application through the provided process.
