Role overview

We are looking for a motivated Audiologist to join the Burnie OPSM store and help shape EssilorLuxottica’s expanding audiology offering. This role sits within a premium, patient-centered setting and offers the chance to work with modern hearing solutions alongside a broader vision-care business.

Key duties

• Deliver high-quality care and create a positive experience for every patient.
• Carry out adult hearing assessments using a variety of diagnostic methods.
• Evaluate hearing health, provide diagnoses, recommend suitable solutions, and make informed management decisions.
• Prescribe, fit, and program hearing aids and assistive listening devices using evidence-based methods.
• Ensure recommendations and prescribing decisions are consistent and accurate after assessment.
• Explain hearing aid technology clearly, including the features and benefits for each customer.
• Communicate advice and clinical information in a simple, understandable way.
• Manage appointments effectively and adapt to changes in the diary when needed.
• Keep clinical knowledge current and continue learning beyond mandatory professional requirements.
• Work toward personal and store performance goals.
• Support front-of-house operations when not in clinical appointments, including troubleshooting and answering customer queries, while helping train the dispensing team.
• Work collaboratively with ENT specialists, GPs, and other medical practitioners where required.

Candidate profile

The successful applicant will hold an audiology degree or an audiometry diploma, along with a current QP number and full membership with an Australian approved professional body such as Audiology Australia or the Australian College of Audiometry.
