Role Overview
As an excavator operator, you will handle and operate different types of construction machinery on a daily basis, especially crawler and mobile excavators, on sites in the Greater Erfurt area. The position involves excavation and earthworks, digging trenches and pits, and supporting the creation of utility and pipe trenches. You will also be responsible for moving loads safely, following safety and environmental rules, and carrying out daily checks and basic maintenance on the equipment used.
You will work closely with site management and the construction crew, coordinate work steps, and help keep operations running smoothly. The job is full-time and hybrid in nature: most of the work takes place on construction sites in the Greater Erfurt area, while administrative tasks may be done partly from home by arrangement.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates have completed training in the construction sector, such as a qualification as a construction equipment operator or a similar background, or they bring several years of relevant professional experience. Valid certificates or proof of authorization for operating construction machinery are considered an advantage.
Key Capabilities
- Confident operation of excavators and other heavy construction equipment on active job sites.
- Practical experience in excavation, trenching, and creating pits according to plan specifications.
- Routine equipment inspection, basic maintenance, and safe work practices in line with accident-prevention rules.
