About the Role
This remote healthcare customer service role is based from home in California and focuses on helping customers understand and use their healthcare benefits and services. The position is centered on delivering accurate guidance, showing empathy, and making each interaction as helpful and professional as possible. You will support a busy volume of customer inquiries while maintaining quality, patience, and a positive customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Handle inbound phone calls from customers looking for help with healthcare benefits.
- Listen carefully and identify each customer’s questions or concerns.
- Use several systems to look up information and resolve issues correctly.
- Explain healthcare options in a clear, accurate, and easy-to-understand way.
- Keep up with a fast-paced queue of interactions while preserving service quality and professionalism.
- Work the assigned schedule, including scheduled breaks and lunch periods.
- Record call details and keep customer files updated as needed.
- Take part in training and coaching sessions to strengthen performance and product knowledge.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of prior customer service experience.
- High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong empathy, patience, and active listening skills.
- Comfort using computers and Windows-based software.
- A private home workspace free from distractions.
- Reliable wired internet with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps.
