Key Duties
- Carry out standard Tier I tasks, including wafer measurement.
- Handle preventive maintenance and wet cleaning independently, and support senior engineers with corrective maintenance when needed.
- Take apart, clean, and rebuild kits as part of kit quality and management work.
- Learn and apply diagnostic approaches, along with the use of documentation and testing tools, with guidance from senior engineers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues.
- Follow best-known methods, use knowledge-management systems, and comply with all intellectual property guidelines.
- Represent Applied Materials professionally in customer interactions and maintain strong service standards at all times.
- Keep the customer workspace tidy and orderly, even in challenging situations, while maintaining a constructive attitude.
- Observe all safety procedures consistently and treat safety as a core value.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the manager.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding role that involves extensive walking, prolonged standing, working in confined spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and climbing stairs and ladders. It also requires lifting up to 35 lbs, distinguishing between colors, and working around noise levels that may be difficult for people sensitive to sound. The role includes using hand tools and power tools. Because the work is typically performed in a clean-room setting, appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn, such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields.
Work Schedule and Travel
The job requires 12-hour rotating shifts, covering both day and night schedules, and overtime may be needed depending on operational requirements. Travel is required for about 20% of the time. Relocation is not eligible for this position.
