Data Analyst

About the role

Hertz is looking for a Data Analyst to join its Dublin team. In this position, you will report to the Director of Data Intelligence and turn internal and external information into practical insights that support better decisions across the business. You will partner with data scientists, data engineers, software developers, and subject matter experts to help produce accurate analytics and reporting.

The role focuses on using analysis to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. Your work will help the organization take proactive, data-led actions based on clear evidence and well-structured reporting.

What you'll do

• Break down fleet-related business challenges and solve them using analytical and quantitative methods to uncover trends, relationships, and patterns in large and complex datasets.
• Answer business questions such as the best duration to keep a vehicle in the fleet, ways to reduce vehicle downtime, and the main reasons behind rising vehicle damage rates.
• Translate analysis into clear recommendations that help leaders shape strategy and improve performance.
• Combine and manage data from multiple internal and external sources to build detailed reports and dashboards.
• Present findings through visualization tools in a way that is easy to understand for technical teams, non-technical audiences, and senior stakeholders.

What we're looking for

This role requires strong SQL capability and hands-on experience working with both structured and unstructured data. You should have a solid background in data analysis, along with proven problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. The ideal candidate can identify issues quickly and turn them into simple, logical solutions.

You must also bring strong communication skills, including verbal, written, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder interaction abilities. Experience with Databricks or a similar platform, as well as data visualization tools such as Tableau, is important. Python scripting knowledge is considered an advantage.

Education and experience

A bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, physics, engineering, or computer science is required. You should also have at least 3 years of practical experience in a data analyst position and a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with Databricks or an equivalent tool.
