Role overview
The Data Analyst will use strong analytical and technical expertise to help shape strategy and deliver key organisational priorities. The focus of the role may change over time, but current priorities include safer staffing, reducing restrictive interventions, membership, volunteering, infection prevention and control, and patient safety.
What you will do
- Apply a range of analytical approaches to prepare, assess, and interpret data, turning raw information into insights that can be used in presentations and decision-making.
- Work confidently with information systems and bring specialist knowledge of NHS data definitions, clinical terminology, and coding frameworks, alongside an understanding of the wider information challenges affecting the NHS.
- Carry out advanced data extraction from the Trust’s information databases, including SQL-based querying and manipulation of complex datasets from the Business Intelligence warehouse.
- Use statistical methods appropriately and make sure data is checked, validated, and reported accurately within agreed deadlines.
- Take responsibility for developing and delivering timely, accurate performance reports across the organisation as directed by the Performance Manager.
- Work closely with managers and clinicians to ensure the right processes are in place for accurate data collection and effective information reporting.
- Present performance data in a way that suits the audience and support target delivery through action planning and development of improvement trajectories.
