The Financial Services Consulting team supports Australian banks, insurers, super funds, and wealth managers by translating data into practical business decisions. The group works as an embedded analytics partner using an AI-led delivery approach, helping clients shift from gut feel to evidence-based action. Its main focus is insurance, with growing work in banking, superannuation, and wealth.

Role Overview

This is a client-facing consulting analytics position rather than an internal analytics role. The work is project-driven, time-sensitive, and focused on solving business problems with strong judgement and clear framing. You will contribute to engagements from beginning to end, including problem definition, analysis, and insight delivery. The role places greater weight on thinking, context, and communication than on the volume of code written.

You will collaborate with senior analysts who will coach and support your development, while also using AI as a regular part of your workflow from day one. Quantium values people with strong learning ability, clear thinking, and the confidence to work with clients early in their careers.

What You Will Do

• Support analytics projects from data preparation and exploration through to insights and presentation.
• Translate unclear client challenges into structured analysis plans and testable hypotheses.
• Develop analysis using statistical, data science, and AI-enabled techniques, selecting the most suitable approach for each question.
• Use AI tools to speed up work while carefully checking for errors, assumptions, or irrelevant output.
• Present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders using clear stories, visuals, and recommendations.
• Carry out quality checks and maintain documentation that is easy for others to reuse.
• Look for feedback and use it to strengthen technical, domain, and consulting skills.
• Deliver work on schedule and ensure it is connected to business outcomes.
• Spot opportunities to add more value within existing client engagements.

What They Are Looking For

• Practical commercial experience showing you can build solutions and create value in a business setting.
• Strong working knowledge of analytics tools and programming languages such as SQL, R, Python, and data visualisation platforms.
• Ability to identify the real problem, work through ambiguity, and shape messy requests into a clear analytical direction.
• Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment while still producing high-quality work.
• Curiosity and regular use of AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot beyond basic experimentation.
• Confidence in communicating clearly and making recommendations in plain language.
• Openness to feedback and a willingness to keep learning across technical and consulting areas.
