What You’ll Lead
- Set the global procurement strategy across technology, clinical providers, professional services, and operational categories.
- Create scalable systems for sourcing, contract oversight, and spend management that preserve flexibility while controlling risk.
- Run competitive sourcing processes such as RFPs and RFQs, and negotiate agreements that improve value and reduce cost.
- Establish vendor scorecards, including KPIs and SLAs, along with risk controls to track quality and compliance.
- Work with Finance and Legal to confirm that vendor agreements meet privacy, compliance, and regulatory expectations.
- Own procurement policies, approval paths, and company-wide training related to procurement practices.
- Choose and implement procurement software that streamlines requisitions, approvals, and reporting.
- Prepare quarterly updates for Finance leadership covering vendor spend, savings, and procurement performance metrics.
What Success Looks Like
- Core procurement policies, workflows, and governance structures are established and operating effectively within the first 12 to 18 months.
- Measurable savings and process efficiencies are delivered across major spending areas.
- A repeatable approach to sourcing and vendor negotiation is in place and widely used across the organization.
- Procurement technology is selected and deployed to automate requisitions and reporting.
- Strong working relationships are built with Finance, Legal, Technology, and Commercial stakeholders.
About You
- You bring 10 or more years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, or vendor management, preferably in a fast-scaling SaaS, healthcare, or benefits setting.
- You have experience creating procurement functions from scratch in growth-oriented companies.
- You are skilled in contract negotiations, including SaaS, clinical services, and global supplier agreements.
- You understand privacy and compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, SOC2, and GDPR.
- You communicate and influence effectively across Finance, Legal, Product, and executive stakeholders.
- You combine strategic thinking with a practical, hands-on approach and do well in fast-moving entrepreneurial environments.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with the Zip procurement platform.
- Exposure to IPO readiness work or public company financial controls.
