Role overview
Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge is hiring a full-time Dishwasher for its Banff, Alberta location in the Canadian Rockies. This is a permanent position with a pay rate of $17.50 per hour. The role is part of a busy mountain resort environment that values teamwork, safety, and strong service standards.
The schedule is typically 30 to 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required and, when worked, will be compensated at time and a half. Night shifts may also be assigned, with a shift premium available when scheduled as a Night Cleaner.
What you'll do
- Clean chinaware and glassware using dishwashing equipment.
- Sort, wash, and put away cutlery and china in the correct storage areas.
- Use cleaning chemicals correctly and store them safely.
- Keep the dish area tidy through regular sweeping and mopping.
- Handle tableware carefully to minimize chips and breakage.
- Wash pots and return them to proper storage.
- Flag safety hazards and help reduce the risk of accidents.
- Assist with event set-up tasks such as plate orders and chafing dishes.
- Coordinate closely with kitchen and service teams.
- Take on other related tasks as needed.
What we're looking for

Physical requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods, often 6 to 10+ hours per shift.
- Frequent walking between the kitchen, dish area, and storage spaces.
- Repeated movements such as scrubbing, rinsing, and loading or unloading machines.
- Capability to lift and carry heavy items such as pots, trays, racks, and garbage bags.
- Comfort with pushing and pulling loaded carts and dish racks.
- Ability to bend, twist, and reach, including high shelving and low storage.
- Tolerance for hot and humid conditions created by industrial dishwashing equipment.
- Regular contact with water, detergents, and cleaning chemicals.
- Readiness to work quickly in a high-volume setting, especially during peak dining periods, banquets, and events.
