Role Summary
The Dispatch Service Crew member serves as the key link between the kitchen and delivery riders. In a busy quick-service restaurant setting, this role focuses on checking orders carefully, coordinating dispatch, and keeping the service moving quickly so customers receive the correct meal on time.
Working Relationships and Expectations
- You will guide and supervise food packing staff involved in meal portioning and dispatch.
- You will coordinate closely with Operations and Dispatch leadership, Logistics, and Quality teams to improve accuracy, handle customer requests, and streamline workflows.
- This is a shift-based role in a high-volume environment, and wearing personal protective equipment is required throughout dispatch operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review orders against the Kitchen Display System, confirm portion sizes and presentation, and make sure sauces, utensils, and other accompaniments are included.
- Allocate delivery orders to riders, assist with route planning to improve driver productivity, and keep an eye on the active delivery queue.
- Push delayed tickets forward and monitor Speed of Service timings to reduce waiting time.
- Carry out regular checks and follow HACCP, sanitation, and safety procedures.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The preferred applicant should have prior team-leading experience in service crew or food portioning roles within busy restaurant or QSR kitchens, ideally with 2 to 4 years of experience. A background in health and safety practices and HACCP standards is preferred, and certification is an advantage.
The role also calls for practical knowledge of food portioning and packing, confidence using computers, Excel, and Google Sheets, and the ability to perform well in a fast-moving, high-pressure setting. Strong English communication skills, team leadership ability, and comfort working with POS systems and Kitchen Display Systems are important.
