About the Role
The Enrollment Specialist supports prospective and current learners by building strong, trusted relationships and helping them choose the academic path that best fits their personal and career goals. The role requires a solid understanding of the institution’s programs, admissions flow, and related support areas so each student receives clear guidance and a high-quality experience.
Work Model
This position follows a hybrid arrangement, with four days each week spent in the office, Monday through Thursday. The schedule is designed to strengthen collaboration, communication, creativity, and team connection.
Key Duties
- Learn and confidently manage the full enrollment journey, including specialized topics such as financial aid.
- Communicate program value clearly through phone, mail, fax, and direct mail so prospects can choose the right program and start date.
- Use sound judgment and problem-solving skills to resolve student concerns and improve the overall student experience.
- Consistently meet or exceed individual and team performance expectations through professional conduct and a positive attitude.
- Support business growth by helping prospective students through the enrollment process and evaluating whether they are ready to apply and enroll in academic programs, including doctoral and alumni offerings.
- Handle inbound and outbound communication effectively while maintaining accurate, complete application records and a professional presence.
- Enter and update student information carefully in software systems while protecting confidential data in a regulated environment.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students to support persistence and encourage referrals.
- Work closely with teammates and other departments to strengthen cross-functional collaboration.
- Take part in training and other activities that support student enrollment and team success.
- Complete additional assigned duties and follow all policies and standards.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- At least 1 year of experience in customer service, account management, or relationship-based work is preferred.
- At least 1 year of admissions experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is preferred.
- Strong phone presence and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment is essential.
- Capability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining quality standards is required.
- A strong understanding of the institution’s products and degree programs is expected.
- Good time management, prioritization, and urgency are required to manage daily work effectively.
- Consultative ability and adaptability in a fast-moving environment are necessary.
- The role requires openness to feedback, accountability, critical thinking, sound judgment, and problem-solving ability.
- Completion of Enrollment Specialist training, including product evaluations and phone assessments, is required before certification.
- Confidential student information must be handled in line with the Covista Code of Conduct and Ethics policy.

Compensation and Benefits
The expected hourly pay range for this position is $18.70 to $33.84. Final compensation may vary based on experience, training, location, certifications or licensure, market conditions, departmental budget, and role responsibility.
Benefits available for this role include health, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage; a 401(k) retirement program with a 6% employer match; 15 paid vacation days per calendar year; and 12 paid holidays plus 2 floating holidays.
