Role overview

CAVA is hiring a Financial Analyst to join its growing restaurant business and contribute to financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making. This position is a strong fit for someone with 1–3 years of experience who wants to build deeper expertise in FP&A within a fast-moving, operations-led, multi-location environment.

You will work closely with Finance, Accounting, Operations, and Real Estate partners to support budgeting, forecasting, variance review, and investment-related decisions at the restaurant level. The role also offers exposure to large and complex datasets, along with opportunities to improve reporting, enhance processes, and strengthen analytical and technical capabilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and monthly performance reviews for restaurant labor, occupancy, and operating expenses.
  • Contribute to financial models tied to new restaurant launches, labor allocation, and expense trend analysis.
  • Analyze actual results versus budget and forecast, and identify the main drivers behind variances.
  • Take ownership of recurring performance metrics and reporting for assigned restaurant or cost areas, keeping outputs accurate and consistent.
  • Work with Operations and Real Estate teams to understand financial implications and support decision-making.
  • Help strengthen data quality, automate recurring reporting, and improve financial planning workflows.
  • Create and maintain scalable reports and dashboards using tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Use data from financial systems and data warehouses to support reporting and analysis.
  • Support month-end close tasks such as accruals, prepaid expense reviews, and expense checks.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and research for Finance and Restaurant Leadership.
  • Participate in post-investment reviews and ongoing improvements to planning and forecasting methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • 1–3 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, or a similar function.
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including accruals, prepaids, and expense recognition.
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Ability to work through large datasets and turn findings into practical, actionable recommendations.
  • Interest in helping business teams make decisions by explaining trade-offs and suggesting financial options.
  • Advanced Excel capability, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Exposure to SQL and relational databases for financial or operational querying.
  • Nice to have: experience with data warehouse or analytics platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Databricks.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with planning or ERP tools such as Hyperion, SAP, Oracle, Adaptive, or Anaplan.
  • Comfortable collaborating with data and analytics partners to source, verify, and interpret information.
  • Able to explain financial outcomes clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, detail-focused, and able to manage several priorities at once.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable in a changing environment.
  • Motivated to grow technical, analytical, and business-partnering skills.

Perks and benefits

  • Competitive base pay, plus bonus and long-term incentives for eligible roles.
  • Early Wage Access.
  • Unlimited PTO.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Paid opportunities to give back to the community.
  • Health, dental, vision, telemedicine, and pet insurance, plus additional coverage options.
  • 401(k) enrollment with CAVA contribution.
  • Company-paid STD, LTD, life, and AD&D coverage for salaried positions, where applicable.
  • Free CAVA food.
  • Casual workplace environment.
  • Opportunity to join a rapidly growing brand early in its expansion.
