A well-established healthcare organization serving communities in Ontario and Alberta is hiring a Financial Analyst for its Calgary site. The company is known for high standards in patient care, business growth, and employee experience.

This position suits a finance professional who prefers a hands-on, operational role and is comfortable partnering directly with leaders in operations and front-line business teams. Rather than focusing only on traditional accounting tasks, the successful candidate will act as the financial lead for the site, helping teams interpret financial data, support billing and revenue activities, track performance, and make stronger business decisions.

What You Will Do

You will be responsible for analyzing financial and operational information, creating reports, supporting planning cycles, and working closely with site leadership to improve results. The role also includes oversight of billing, revenue reconciliation, controls, and audit readiness.

Financial Analysis and Reporting

• Review financial and operational data and turn it into useful insights that help guide decisions.
• Build monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, dashboards, and KPI packs.
• Carry out budget-versus-actual, forecast-versus-actual, and trend or variance reviews to spot risks, opportunities, and performance drivers.
• Maintain financial models and use them to support ongoing reporting and planning needs.

Business Partnership and Operational Finance Support

• Act as the main financial contact for the Calgary location and work closely with operations, clinic leaders, and other teams.
• Collaborate with site leadership to understand operational issues, financial patterns, and improvement opportunities.
• Provide everyday financial support and help translate numbers into practical operational actions.
• Develop strong relationships across operations, finance, and administration to keep financial priorities aligned.

Budgeting, Forecasting, and Process Improvement

• Support annual budgeting, ongoing forecasting, and long-range planning activities.
• Review current financial and operational workflows and suggest ways to improve speed, accuracy, and cost efficiency.
• Help create tools, reporting structures, and controls that improve performance visibility and support proactive decision-making.

Revenue Cycle, Billing, and Reconciliation

• Own private-pay revenue streams and ensure they are accurate, complete, reconciled on time, and properly reported.
• Support Alberta Health billing processes and help maintain compliance, accuracy, and operational effectiveness.
• Track billing activity, reimbursement trends, and revenue cycle performance to uncover issues, risks, and improvement areas.
• Prepare billing records and documentation so they are ready for internal and external audits or reviews.

Compliance, Audit, and Controls

• Assist with internal and external audits, regulatory reporting, and compliance obligations.
• Make sure financial reporting and billing processes are clearly documented, accurate, and aligned with internal controls and organizational standards.
• Support additional analysis and special projects as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline is required.
• You should have at least 3 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, operational finance, or a similar business-partnering finance role.
• Experience in healthcare, clinics, diagnostics, or another regulated service environment is strongly preferred.
• You need a solid grasp of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and KPI reporting.
• Experience with billing, revenue cycle work, reimbursement, or healthcare/insurance claims is considered a strong advantage.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required; exposure to financial systems, ERP platforms, and reporting or data visualization tools such as Power BI is an asset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are needed to work effectively with operations and non-finance stakeholders.
• You should be comfortable in a fast-moving, hands-on environment that combines analysis with daily operational support.
• Good organization and the ability to juggle multiple priorities while meeting deadlines are important.
