Where you'll work
Stellenbeschreibung
About the role
Visual Industries Australia is seeking a graphic designer who enjoys work that moves beyond the screen and into the real world. Projects are fabricated, printed, painted, and installed across flagship retail fit-outs, major commercial environments, and well-known Australian brands.
This opportunity is suited to someone with signage experience, a sharp eye for technical detail, and an interest in building portfolio-worthy work with visible outcomes.
What you will do
You will handle a variety of active client projects, from interpreting briefs and shaping ideas through to preparing artwork that is ready for production. The work spans architectural wayfinding, brand identity applications, large-format campaigns, and custom fabrication pieces.
You will also collaborate closely with the production team, so accuracy and an understanding of how final signage is built will matter. Knowledge of materials, tolerances, fixing methods, and other practical production considerations will be highly valued.
Experience with technical drawings or shop drawings is an advantage.
Requirements
The role calls for at least 3 years of experience in graphic design within signage, large-format print, or a related built-environment field. You should be confident using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign and be able to produce files that are print-ready and suitable for production.
A practical understanding of materials and print processes is important, as is the ability to spot issues early and work independently across several live jobs. Technical drawing or CAD exposure would be a strong plus. Candidates must also have full working rights in Australia.
Terms and conditions
This is a 3-month contract with the possibility of continuing employment or subcontracting. The role is set to begin immediately.
What you will get
You will work on complex, high-profile projects that offer both creative and technical challenges, rather than high-volume production work. You will be able to see your designs fabricated and installed, and you will be part of a tight-knit studio where your contribution is visible and valued. Compensation will be competitive and aligned to your experience.
How to apply
Applicants are expected to send a CV and a portfolio, or a link to recent work, with the subject line: Graphic Designer – [Your Name]. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted promptly.
