About the Role
Access Healthcare is looking for an experienced HCC Coder / QA professional for its Hyderabad location. The role is open to certified candidates with relevant experience in HCC coding or quality assurance.
Role Overview
This position focuses on reviewing clinical records, validating diagnosis coding, and ensuring that documentation meets coding and compliance standards. The opening is for Hyderabad, and candidates should be comfortable with the stated notice period requirement.
Responsibilities
- Examine medical documentation to determine the patient’s diagnosis and treatment details.
- Apply ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes appropriately for each case.
- Link diagnoses to Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) classifications.
- Confirm that coding decisions are accurate, consistent, and compliant.
- Review records and supporting documents for quality and correctness.
- Share coding-related feedback with physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Support training and awareness on clinical documentation and compliance for physicians, providers, and clinic teams.
Requirements
- Candidates must have a strong foundation in medical coding.
- Prior experience requirement: 1.7+ years for HCC Coder roles.
- Prior experience requirement: 2+ years for HCC QA roles.
- Certification is mandatory: CRC, CPC, or CCS, with any one of these accepted.
- Hands-on knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and HEDIS CAT II coding is required.
- High attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy are essential.
- A commitment to coding compliance and documentation standards is expected.
- Notice period must be acceptable as per the employer’s requirement.
