About the Role

Speedy, the UK's premier hire provider, is seeking a dedicated Hire Controller for its Cardiff depot. This pivotal role is at the forefront of sales and customer service, focusing on building strong relationships. The Hire Controller manages the entire hiring process, from initial order placement through to equipment delivery and collection. This involves close collaboration with various depot departments, including stock teams, drivers, and engineers, to ensure prompt fulfillment of customer needs and high satisfaction levels. The position is primarily desk-based, requiring effective communication and coordination across teams to minimize delays and ensure equipment availability.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete hire process from order inception to delivery and collection.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and service needs.
• Liaise effectively with internal teams such as stock management, logistics, and engineering to ensure timely service delivery.
• Coordinate equipment availability and dispatch to meet customer demands.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
• Process hire orders accurately and efficiently.
• Contribute to the depot's operational efficiency and customer service excellence.

Requirements

• Demonstrated strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High degree of adaptability and ability to manage changing priorities.
• A proactive commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
• Possession of a valid driving license.
• Prior experience in the hire industry, or a similar sales or operational role, is highly advantageous.

Eligibility

Applicants should possess strong organizational and communication skills, a commitment to learning, and a valid driving license. Previous experience in the hire industry or a related sales/operational field is preferred. Candidates must be able to support the company's ESG Strategy.
