Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor

Role Overview

This position supports housekeeping quality control at a Marriott property in Doha, Qatar. The supervisor checks that guest rooms, public areas, pool areas, and other spaces meet cleanliness and presentation standards after housekeeping work is completed. The role also helps keep room-status information accurate, coordinates daily housekeeping activity, and serves as a link between housekeeping, engineering, front office, and laundry teams.

Key Duties

• Review cleaned rooms and public spaces to confirm they meet the required quality level.
• Check sold-room reports, verify occupancy status, identify room discrepancies, and prioritize rooms that need attention.
• Update the status of rooms departing guests have vacated.
• Support housekeeping leaders with daily operational tasks.
• Coordinate communication between housekeeping, engineering, front office, and laundry departments.
• Log and help resolve room-status issues with the front desk.
• Prepare, share, and communicate room assignment changes.
• Pass important updates to the incoming shift and complete required documentation.
• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, counseling, disciplining, and motivating team members.

• Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, accidents, or injuries immediately.
• Complete mandatory safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and protect confidential company information.
• Safeguard company assets and follow all quality requirements.
• Greet guests professionally, recognize their needs, assist guests with disabilities, and respond courteously to concerns.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and guests.
• Build positive working relationships and respond appropriately to team concerns.
• Perform physical duties such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, standing, walking, kneeling, reaching, and handling objects of different sizes and weights, including items up to 55 pounds independently and more with assistance.
• Operate or move a loaded housekeeping cart and other equipment across sloped or uneven surfaces.
• Use computers or point-of-sale systems to enter and find work information.
• Read and verify information in multiple formats, including small print.
• Carry out other related duties assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

Applicants should have completed high school or an equivalent credential such as a GED. The role also calls for at least one year of related work experience and at least one year of supervisory experience. No license or certification is required.
