Role overview
Elis is looking for an HR Generalist in Ireland to partner with the HR Business Partner and support teams across several laundry and linen service sites. The position is focused on helping managers and employees with day-to-day HR needs, employee relations, recruitment, performance support, HR administration, and compliance with Irish employment law. Regular travel between sites is part of the job.

Working pattern
The role follows a Monday to Friday schedule.
What the role involves
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR support and advise managers on employee relations matters such as disciplinary processes, grievances, absenteeism, and performance concerns.
- Help carry out investigations and prepare related documentation in line with company policies and Irish employment law.
- Support the handling of workplace conflict and contribute to a positive employee environment.
- Manage recruitment from start to finish for assigned locations, including posting vacancies, screening candidates, interviewing, and preparing offers.
- Arrange onboarding and induction activities to give new employees a smooth start.
- Keep employee records accurate and aligned with GDPR obligations.
- Prepare routine HR reports and keep information current.
- Assist managers with probation reviews and performance improvement plans.
- Coach managers on effective employee development and engagement practices.
- Ensure HR policies and procedures remain aligned with Irish employment legislation.
- Identify training needs and support coordination of learning activities.
- Help deliver HR training sessions and workshops.
- Contribute to employee engagement initiatives.
- Support the rollout of wellbeing programmes.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across the organisation.
Candidate profile
- Between 1 and 3 years of experience in an HR administrator or HR generalist position.
- Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices in ROI and NI.
- Previous involvement in employee relations cases.
- A degree in Human Resources, Business, or a similar discipline.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Comfortable managing confidential and sensitive information.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Well organised, commercially aware, and able to juggle several priorities at once.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel regularly between sites.
Desirable experience
- CIPD qualification or an equivalent credential.
- Background in manufacturing, logistics, or production settings.
- Experience in a unionised workplace.
