Our client, an established global manufacturing business, is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support its operations in Cavan. This position can also be based in Dublin, with travel to the Cavan site as needed. The company has been operating for more than 60 years and specialises in precision-engineered products used in industrial settings. This HR Generalist role supports day-to-day HR activity within the Ireland business unit in a multinational environment. The role is responsible for ensuring local HR practices meet Irish employment requirements while staying aligned with wider global policies, systems, and people strategies. The post works closely with regional HR colleagues and local leadership to deliver practical, people-focused HR support.

Employee lifecycle

  • Help coordinate recruitment, candidate selection, and onboarding activities alongside global HR teams.
  • Prepare and manage employment contracts, probation reviews, and employee records in line with Irish employment legislation.
  • Oversee leaver processes and carry out exit interviews.

Employee relations and case support

  • Serve as the initial contact for employee relations questions and concerns.
  • Guide managers on disciplinary matters, grievances, performance issues, and absence management.
  • Assist with investigations and hearings when required.

Compliance and policy

  • Review and support HR policies so they remain compliant with local employment law.
  • Handle employee information in accordance with EU GDPR and company data governance standards.
  • Contribute to compliance reviews and internal audits.

Compensation, payroll, and benefits

  • Support payroll processes, statutory leave administration, and benefits coordination.
  • Assist with benefits matters, including pension arrangements and statutory leave entitlements.

Performance, learning, and engagement

  • Support performance review cycles and development planning activities.
  • Help deliver learning, training, and employee engagement initiatives that align with global HR priorities.

Reporting and stakeholder partnership

  • Compile HR metrics and management reports for local and regional stakeholders.
  • Work in partnership with regional and global HR teams to maintain consistent HR practices.

Experience and qualifications

The ideal candidate should be comfortable operating in a matrixed, multi-country HR structure and should bring strong communication, advisory, and organisational capability. A solid understanding of employment law and modern HR practices is important, along with prior experience supporting employee relations in a corporate or multinational setting. Experience using HRIS platforms is also required. A bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related discipline is expected. CIPD qualification, or an equivalent credential, is preferred. Ongoing professional development in employment law is also preferred, though not mandatory.
