Role Overview
As a Junior Maintenance Engineer in Fleet Management Dredging, you will support the rollout and ongoing use of a tailored Ship Maintenance Management System (SMMS). Your contribution will help ensure that fleet requirements are accurately captured, maintenance information stays reliable, and the transition to the new system runs smoothly. This role is also about connecting with colleagues, supporting vessels when needed, and helping teams adopt the system effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, update, and maintain clear work instructions for staff and fleet personnel.
- Help coordinate training and share knowledge so teams can use the system confidently.
- Build business reports and KPIs, review SMMS data, and translate findings into process improvements.
- Check user needs against system capabilities and highlight any gaps or optimization opportunities.
Profile and Experience
The ideal candidate combines technical understanding with strong people skills. You should be customer-oriented, socially confident, a good listener, and able to communicate clearly. A process-driven mindset is important, along with the flexibility to travel to vessels when support is required.
Additional Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience with asset management systems such as Maximo or similar platforms.
- Working and thinking level comparable to a bachelor’s degree.
- Strong knowledge of software applications.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Strong analytical and process-thinking ability.

Work Environment
You will be based in the Abu Dhabi office and work with the SMMS Competence Center for Fleet Management in an informal team of at least 7 professionals.
Employment Details
