What the role involves

You will act as the link between financial analysts and software interfaces, helping the advisory team build and improve interactive tools that present portfolio data and pricing frameworks in a structured way. The position follows a hybrid working pattern, with part of the week spent in the office collaborating with engineers and principals on interface planning, and the remaining time focused from home. The core objective is to make dense financial datasets simple to navigate and visually organized so clients can run scenarios and understand the consequences in real time.

Key responsibilities

• Create modular, well-structured front-end code with HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript frameworks for responsive interface prototypes.
• Design page layouts and interactive tables that make complex financial information, including portfolio economics and capital allocation data, easier to read and use.
• Work with senior consultants to interpret financial model requirements and convert them into logical screen flows and interface components.
• Check usability, layout consistency across screen sizes, and stable performance when handling large data volumes.
• Improve visual presentation and navigation based on feedback from clients, including partners at a leading UK financial services group.
• Take part in weekly team reviews to assess the effectiveness and accuracy of the decision-support tools being built.

Requirements

• Basic practical knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, usually gained through university study, a structured technical course, or personal project work.
• Experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework such as React, Vue, or Angular.
• Interest in financial data, spreadsheet-based modelling, and the way businesses make important pricing decisions.
• Strong care for detail, especially in layout structure, alignment, and how data is displayed visually.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to colleagues who are not engineers, such as business analysts.
• A hands-on, practical mindset that prefers simple and functional design over decorative complexity.
