Employment Type
This role is available as full-time, and part-time is possible from 28 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Run quality control checks on raw materials, complex spice blends, food additives, and meat products.
- Carry out microbiological as well as chemical and physical testing independently in line with defined methods.
- Perform sensory assessments to judge product quality and product characteristics.
- Take samples, including raw materials and environmental samples for microbiological monitoring.
- Accept incoming samples, register them, label them correctly, and ensure proper storage.
- Prepare samples and process them according to laboratory procedures and standards.
- Review, interpret, and document test outcomes, including using computer-based systems.
- Create analysis certificates and associated records.
- Work with external laboratories and manage outsourced testing assignments.
- Use, monitor, and care for laboratory equipment and testing devices assigned to you.
- Complete servicing and calibration tasks according to the maintenance plan.
Candidate Profile
- Completed vocational training as a dairy laboratory technician, chemical laboratory technician, food technology specialist, or an equivalent qualification.
- Hands-on experience in food analysis or a laboratory testing environment.
- Practical knowledge of instrumental analysis, especially HPLC and PCR.
- Confident use of MS Office and ERP software, ideally SAP.
- Accurate, self-directed working style with a strong focus on correct documentation.
- Reliable, proactive, committed, and comfortable working as part of a team.
- Good written and spoken English skills.
