Role overview

This position is part of the landscaping and grounds team at a luxury hotel in Doha, Qatar. The role focuses on keeping outdoor areas clean, attractive, and well maintained while supporting the hotel’s service standards and safety practices.

Key duties

• Monitor the hotel grounds to preserve an appealing and well-kept appearance.
• Clean, replace, or repair fountains, planters, and other decorative outdoor features.
• Plant flowers, bulbs, grass, trees, and shrubs as needed.
• Maintain flower beds, hanging baskets, and planter boxes through watering, weeding, pruning, and related care.
• Replace and transplant trees, flowers, and shrubs.
• Prune trees and shrubs to support healthy growth and appearance.
• Trim lawn edges in places that cannot be reached by a mower.
• Mow and edge lawns, rake leaves, and carry out general lawn maintenance.
• Install, maintain, and operate irrigation systems.
• Remove and bag trash from all outdoor waste bins.
• Operate dump trucks, tractors, trucks, or utility vehicles to move equipment, supplies, materials, and waste.
• Wash, clean, and refuel equipment after use.

Safety, conduct, and working conditions

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries immediately.
• Complete required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a neat, professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Protect confidential company information and safeguard company property.
• Support coworkers and treat everyone with dignity and respect.
• Help the team work toward shared goals and quality standards.
• Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, moving, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing items under 50 lbs (22.50 kg) without assistance.
• Stand, sit, or walk for long periods or for the full shift.
• Inspect tools, equipment, and machines visually to identify defects.
• Handle objects of different sizes and weights, requiring fine motor skills and strong hand-eye coordination.
• Reach above the head and below the knees, including bending, twisting, stooping, and crawling.
• Move across sloped, uneven, or slippery surfaces and stairs.
• Climb and descend ladders.
• Use hand dexterity and fine motor skills continuously, often with both hands.
• Handle snow removal and ice maintenance if required.
• Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.

Required and preferred qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred. At least 1 year of related work experience is preferred. Previous supervisory experience is not required. A valid driving license is mandatory.
