About the role
AB InBev Africa is looking for a Maintenance Planner to ensure maintenance activities are properly prepared and executed for the relevant equipment. The role focuses on making sure that required spares, resources, and plans are available before planned maintenance takes place, while also tracking the effectiveness of outages and raising recommendations when unplanned work comes up.
What you will do
- Identify the plant, equipment, spare parts, and supporting documents or systems needed for maintenance work.
- Build and maintain the maintenance plan.
- Ensure tags and work arising from inspections are incorporated into repair planning.
- Improve maintenance plans continuously, including finding ways to shorten planned outage time without putting the plant at risk.
- Communicate clearly with teams and stakeholders across all levels of the plant.
- Support both individual and team development.
- Apply VPO principles in daily work.
- Follow GOP requirements and ensure they are understood and implemented.
- Maintain and sustain improvements already put in place.
- Implement and manage the maintenance planning system in COSWIN.
- Maintain accurate maintenance data and records.
- Review maintenance data and prepare reports and analyses.
- Plan scheduled maintenance activities.
- Prepare, update, and circulate reports.
- Coach and train internal customers.
- Plan and track maintenance projects.
- Create and revise work instructions.
- Audit maintenance documentation and output.
- Guide, support, and coach members of the maintenance team.
- Take responsibility for personal development and performance.
- Support the maintenance team and cover for the Controller during leave when needed.
- Lead effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Encourage active participation in work planning, operational communication, problem solving, and review sessions.
- Promote a mindset of accuracy and continuous improvement.
- Help set and monitor team goals.
- Maintain safe working conditions and uphold safety standards.
- Implement and comply with safety, health, and environmental procedures and legislation.
- Maintain 5S and safety standards.
- Identify and close unsafe practices through SIOs.
- Carry out safety inspections and audits of safe maintenance practices.
- Ensure PPE requirements are followed.
- Complete 1-on-1s and manage SKAP requirements.
- Participate in S Plan activities and loss/waste analysis for the top three machines.
- Keep maintenance KPIs and PIs current and accurate.
- Implement and sustain autonomous operations according to plan.
- Support GOP compliance and VPO implementation.
Requirements
- BSc or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in mechanical planning.
- Experience in the FMCG industry is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP.
- Comfortable using a PC and Microsoft Office tools.
- Good understanding of maintenance processes and practices.
