Role overview
Siemens Mobility is seeking a Maintenance Planner to support train and locomotive maintenance operations at its Visakhapatnam site. The role contributes to reliable mobility solutions by coordinating maintenance planning, depot activities, and operational handovers with Indian Railways.
What you will do
- Prepare train orders, authorize recommissioning with any needed limitations, oversee shunting activities inside the depot, and plan track usage.
- Develop maintenance schedules and share them with customer operations.
- Coordinate with operations teams, including Indian Railway, and maintain records for vehicle handover and return across different schedules.
- Conduct joint inspections with operations personnel during locomotive handover at the depot.
- Review A&V cases with the maintenance delivery team (ECM IV), estimate related costs, and reconcile them with Indian Railways.
- Schedule service orders in the CMMS and issue train service orders accordingly.
- Work with IR PPIO for shunting coordination and support maintenance teams with track allocation.
- Carry out pre-maintenance checks, pre-departure inspections, and issue fitness certificates for locomotives.
- Prepare contractual maintenance reports for Indian Railways.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in electrical, electronic, or mechanical engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 10 years of overall experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in rolling stock fleet or maintenance management.
- Practical experience working with CMMS.
- Strong spoken and written English skills.
- Good communication ability, along with solid organizing, documentation, and presentation skills.
