About the role

ASML’s Customer Support organization keeps customer systems running through maintenance, repairs, and ongoing improvements at client sites. Within this group, the EUV UIR team handles upgrades, installations, and relocations across Europe for EUV customers.

This Material Handler position will support the local engineering team and is part of a growing setup made up of experienced, highly driven engineers. The objective is to help deliver strong results in this new organization.

What you will do

The Material Handler in the CS EUV UIR department supports the installation of EUV products at customer locations across Europe. The main focus is to make sure materials and tools are ready and delivered to UIR engineers in the System Working Area (SWA).

You will help support the installation and upgrade of advanced lithography systems at customer sites, ensuring work is completed to specification, on schedule, and at a level that exceeds customer expectations.

  • Move materials physically inside the clean room using the correct transportation methods, including transferring items from the Laydown Area (LDA) to the SWA.
  • Keep accurate records for incoming and outgoing parts, and track material movement so the right items are available at the right time.
  • Maintain a tidy, well-organized work area and ensure workflow remains efficient for daily UIR operations.
  • Train and coach fellow Material Handlers.
  • Support the UIR Disturbance Review Board (DRB).
  • Spot opportunities to improve processes and help drive those improvements forward.

Key responsibilities

  • Make sure the right tools and materials are on hand at the correct time, based on the daily plan and the live installation status in the SWA.
  • Send back tools, materials, and packaging to ASML or the customer warehouse when required.
  • Control storage of materials so items are not misplaced and the work area stays clean and structured.
  • Inspect tools and materials for differences in SERV/12NC number, quality, and cleanliness, then take action to resolve any issues.
  • Handle incorrect deliveries and other material delivery problems.
  • Report defects, missing items, or incorrect parts and tools, and support corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate with the EF/CS install project team so tooling preventive maintenance and calibration stay current and aligned with the installation plan.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as updating build-in/build-out lists to keep the installed machine configuration correct in SAP.
  • Order materials and help ensure spare parts and special tooling are delivered during escalations.
  • Work with the Install Team and local Logistics team to process material notifications for DOAs.
  • Drive improvements that lower install cost and cycle time, or that improve safety and quality.
  • Use SAP, MS Excel, Office tools, and database software proficiently.

Experience and education

  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not essential.
  • Background in semiconductors or experience as a logistics technician is preferred, though not required.
  • Understanding of logistics processes and service order processes is required.
  • Experience with SAP and Planon is an advantage.

Skills needed

  • Strong command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-moving and constantly changing environment.
  • Comfort working across different cultures and adapting to varied ways of working.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, flexible, and able to work independently.
  • Good spoken and written English.
