Role Overview

As a Mobile Cleaner, you will support a designated area and help maintain high standards of cleanliness, quality control, and health and safety while working to meet and exceed client expectations.

Key Duties

• Maintain floors by sweeping, vacuuming, scrubbing, mopping, polishing, stripping, sealing, and finishing hard surfaces, including washroom floors, using handheld, walk-behind, auto, or powered equipment as needed.
• Remove and transport waste from collection points to bins or compactors.
• Move cleaning and maintenance equipment between floors and sites when required.
• Clean, store, and care for tools, machines, and equipment used on the job.
• Clean glass areas that require ladders, scaffolding, or other extension tools.
• Handle stairwells and elevator cabs where ladder access is needed.
• Load supplies, unload materials, and restock cleaning solutions.
• Use chemicals and power equipment according to procedures to avoid damage to floors and fixtures.
• Prepare cleaning solutions by measuring water and detergents to specification.
• Steam clean or shampoo carpets as assigned.
• Report the need for significant repairs or additional work on building systems.
• Remove snow and debris from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas using snow removal tools or de-icing products.
• Carry out any additional tasks assigned by management.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with cleaning, housekeeping, and maintenance work in an institutional setting.
• Practical knowledge of floor care machines, cleaning tools, materials, and chemical solutions.
• Understanding of occupational health and safety requirements, including WHMIS.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy items and climb ladders.
• Strong people skills and the ability to work well with staff, clients, and the public.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, assigned shifts, and at multiple locations.
• Ability to follow spoken and written instructions and keep both manual and electronic records.
• Must meet security clearance requirements where applicable.
• Valid Class G driver’s licence is required.

Physical Demands

Employment Details

This is a regular full-time position based in Brantford, Ontario, Canada. The pay range is $18.99 to $22.34 per hour, with the starting rate determined by the selected candidate’s experience, education, performance, and overall fit for the role.
