Role Overview
BASIS Baton Rouge Materra Campus is hiring a full-time Monitor to support student supervision and campus safety at the West Baton Rouge Parish County, LA location. The position involves overseeing students during lunches, recess, parking duty, and the school’s “Early Bird” and “Late Bird” programs.
What You’ll Do
- Keep students safe through active monitoring throughout the school day.
- Supervise behavior during lunch, recess, class transitions, and before- and after-school periods.
- Escalate unruly conduct to school leadership when needed.
- Notify a supervisor if school property is damaged.
- Respond quickly and appropriately to urgent situations such as injuries or food allergy incidents.
- Use good judgment while performing daily duties.
- Provide front office assistance when required.
- Maintain consistent, regular, and reliable attendance.
- Oversee individual students or student groups during both structured and unstructured activities.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of high school or a higher level of education.
- Valid fingerprint clearance and/or a satisfactory state background check as applicable.
Preferred Background
- Previous experience in a school setting or child care environment is an advantage.
