Role summary
This full-time, on-site Pipe Welder Downhill position is located in Al Jubayl, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on downhill welding across a range of pipe sizes and materials in line with project requirements, drawings, and approved welding procedures.
What you will do
- Carry out downhill welding work on piping components according to specifications and procedure requirements.
- Prepare joints, fit and align pipes, and set up welding equipment before starting work.
- Produce welds that meet visual inspection and non-destructive testing standards.
- Read isometric drawings, weld maps, welding symbols, and related job documents accurately.
- Work with supervisors and inspectors to ensure the job follows project and quality expectations.
- Maintain weld traceability records and complete the required job documentation.
- Keep tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow safety rules, quality controls, and site HSE requirements at all times.
- Support fabrication or repair activities in the workshop or field when needed.
Requirements
- A solid base in welding, including hands-on experience with pipe welding and arc welding in industrial settings.
- Practical ability in TIG and MIG welding, with judgment to choose the right process for the material and procedure.
- Understanding of piping materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloys, including how they respond during welding.
- Capability to perform downhill pipe welding to recognized code standards such as ASME and API.
- Experience working from drawings, WPS/PQR documents, weld symbols, and isometric layouts with accuracy.
- Strong safety awareness, including proper PPE use and compliance with hot work and site safety procedures.
- Physical readiness to work in demanding conditions, including confined spaces, at height, and in changing weather.
- Prior exposure to oil and gas, petrochemical, or other heavy industrial projects is preferred.
- Welding certificates or trade credentials are considered an advantage.
