Role Overview
This full-time Procurement Officer position is based in Oyo State, Nigeria. The role focuses on overseeing purchasing activities end to end, ensuring that the organization secures the right materials and services on time, at the right cost, and in line with internal standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle the complete procurement process, starting from purchase requests through to final delivery.
- Draft, check, and follow up on purchase orders so supplies arrive when needed.
- Identify suitable suppliers, assess their offerings, and build productive long-term vendor partnerships.
- Work on pricing and contract terms to achieve better savings and business value.
- Track stock levels and coordinate replenishment to avoid shortages of essential items.
- Partner with the finance team to match invoices, resolve discrepancies, and support prompt vendor settlements.
- Keep procurement files, reports, and supporting documents accurate and up to date.
- Ensure all procurement activities align with company guidelines, regulatory requirements, and applicable industry standards.
- Assist with budgeting and other cost-management efforts.
Requirements
- A B.Sc. degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a similar discipline.
- At least 5 years of verified experience working as a Procurement Officer or in a comparable position.
- Background in Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, FMCG, or Engineering will be an added advantage.
- Sound understanding of purchasing practices, supplier management, and contract discussions.
- Hands-on ability with procurement systems and ERP platforms.
- Strong command of MS Excel and reporting tools.
- Good communication, analytical thinking, and negotiation capabilities.
- Professional certification is considered a plus.
Compensation
The role offers a monthly salary of NGN 450,000.
