Role Overview
Sumiro Trends, a Surat-based sportswear manufacturer known for the WEWOK brand, is hiring an experienced Stitching Production Manager for its garment unit in Sachin, Surat. This full-time role sits in the stitching department and calls for strong hands-on experience in stitching production, line supervision, manpower control, quality assurance, and day-to-day production planning.
The selected candidate will oversee the full stitching operation, work toward daily output goals, maintain garment quality, minimize errors, and coordinate closely with cutting, finishing, packing, and management teams.
Key Duties
- Take ownership of the complete stitching production area.
- Supervise stitching lines, supervisors, operators, helpers, and karigars.
- Create daily production plans based on style, article, size, colour, and delivery timelines.
- Track production targets and make sure they are achieved on schedule.
- Review line-wise output and work on improving efficiency.
- Inspect stitching quality, sizing, finishing, and garment construction standards.
- Control rejection, alteration, damage, and rework within stitching.
- Work with the cutting team to ensure smooth bundle movement and planning.
- Coordinate with finishing and packing teams to keep workflow uninterrupted.
- Confirm that each line receives the correct sample, measurements, trims, thread, and instructions before production begins.
- Support supervisors and operators when new styles or methods are introduced.
- Resolve stitching issues on the shop floor without delay.
- Maintain WIP control and line balance to reduce production delays.
- Follow up on pending jobs, urgent orders, and priority styles.
- Prepare daily production, line, rejection, and manpower reports.
- Train workers to improve productivity, quality, and discipline.
- Ensure machines are in proper working condition and liaise with maintenance when needed.
- Maintain order, cleanliness, and a structured working environment on the stitching floor.
- Cut down idle time, unnecessary movement, and production losses.
- Share daily production updates with management.
Candidate Profile
The employer is seeking someone with proven experience in garment stitching production management. Background in sportswear, track pants, T-shirts, shorts, lowers, activewear, or knitted garments will be an advantage.
The ideal candidate should understand stitching machines, garment operations, garment construction, and line production well. The role also requires the ability to manage workers and supervisors under production pressure, maintain quality and measurement control, plan work style-wise and line-wise, and stay disciplined, accountable, and target-driven. Basic use of Excel, production registers, or company software is preferred. Strong coordination with cutting, finishing, packing, and management teams is essential, along with solid problem-solving and floor-management ability.
