Role Overview
Hynds Pipe Systems Limited is looking for a hands-on Production Technician to support the day-to-day output of its Pokeno factory in Waikato. This role suits someone with experience in a concrete manufacturing setting who can help keep production on schedule, maintain a constructive team environment, and actively support a strong health and safety culture.
What You Will Be Doing
- Make sure the production timetable is followed so the factory meets its planned output targets.
- Carry out mould preparation and assembly, reinforcement assembly, concrete casting and pouring, formwork removal, cleaning, finishing, and any other task needed to manufacture products safely.
- Remove forms once the concrete has cured, then strip and mark finished product in line with production drawings.
- Use power tools and operate equipment such as a forklift, including tying and rolling wires and pouring concrete.
- Work with portable concrete-mixing equipment and hand-cast structural concrete products by loading sand, cement, gravel, or pumice into the mixer.
- Use quality control sheets correctly, check them as required, and respond quickly to any non-conformance issues.
What We Are Looking For
- Prior experience working with precast concrete products.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and drawings.
- Confidence to make decisions and put them into action effectively.
- Forklift endorsement preferred.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Physical capability to handle manual tasks, including lifting up to 25 kg.
- Working knowledge of workshop health and safety practices.
