Program PMO Resource Scheduler

Role overview

Fastnet is seeking a Program PMO Resource Scheduler to own the creation, tracking, and improvement of project schedules using Microsoft Project. This position is focused on strong schedule governance, resource planning, demand forecasting, benefits visibility, risk review, and reporting so that delivery stays aligned with business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and continuously refine project schedules in Microsoft Project for all milestones and activity updates.
• Partner with project leaders and managers to build detailed timelines from project start through completion.
• Support planning and progress tracking across project activities.
• Allocate people, equipment, and materials against tasks in Microsoft Project based on guidance from the Project Lead or Manager.
• Work closely with stakeholders to keep communication clear and coordinated across all parties involved.
• Handle schedule change requests and support the project team throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Prepare and run schedule compliance reporting, including Actual vs. Planned analysis, S-curves, and headcount reports.
• Assist with setting up a technical agenda for the project programme.
• Maintain the risk register and carry out impact analysis.
• Support governance forums by coordinating with Project Leads and Managers and updating project status cards.

Experience and technical requirements

• At least 5 years of experience scheduling technical projects across a portfolio.
• Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Project, Planview, or comparable planning tools.
• Strong background in operational projects, with capital-project experience not being the primary focus.
• Proven ability to assess resource capacity against demand.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver business outcomes.
• Self-driven, proactive, and able to introduce improvements and changes.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills for working with people at all levels and across global teams.
• PMP certification is required.
• Planview experience is an advantage.

This is a full-time onsite role based in Cork, County Cork, Ireland. The role centers on operational project scheduling and resource governance.
