Overview
ConsultANZ is hiring a seasoned Project Director for a leading civil contractor in New Zealand. The role centres on steering the tender for a significant civil infrastructure project and guiding major bids from early planning through to contract award. It is well suited to a senior professional who has delivered complex infrastructure work and can lead commercial, technical, and delivery-focused activity at a high level.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the full tender and bid journey for a major infrastructure project.
- Oversee the planning, commercial, and technical elements of the submission.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Coordinate and lead the project team during the tender stage.
- Assess project risks and put forward workable mitigation strategies.
- Remain involved in the project after award to support successful delivery.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 15 years of experience delivering major civil infrastructure projects.
- Prior experience in a Project Director, Senior Project Manager, or comparable leadership role.
- Hands-on involvement in leading large project bids or tender submissions.
- Strong expertise in earthworks, roading, and concrete-based projects.
- Experience on wind farm projects is considered a strong advantage.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and commercial acumen.
