Proposal Manager

Role Overview

This full-time Proposal Manager role is based in Ahmedabad and sits within the Presales function. The position calls for a proactive, client-oriented professional with 5 to 8 years of experience in proposal leadership, especially for Indian government IT opportunities. The person in this role will own the complete proposal lifecycle, from understanding requirements to submitting polished, compliant bids, while also supporting presentations, product demonstrations, and solution alignment with internal teams.

What You Will Do

• Steer the full proposal creation process for RFPs, RFQs, and EOIs issued by government departments and agencies.
• Make sure every submission follows the stated bid instructions, proposal rules, and relevant government standards.
• Work closely with technical, legal, finance, and operations teams to collect inputs and align the bid response.
• Study tender documents in detail to identify core expectations, evaluation criteria, and submission priorities.
• Keep up to date with Indian government procurement rules, procedures, and online tendering portals.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to shape proposal strategy, win themes, and differentiators.
• Coordinate with external vendors and partners wherever their inputs are needed in the response.
• Prepare, revise, and polish technical, commercial, financial, and administrative sections of proposals.
• Build and maintain a library of reusable content, templates, and case studies to speed up future submissions.
• Spot submission risks early and take steps to reduce errors or compliance gaps.
• Run final quality checks to confirm the proposal is accurate, complete, and submission-ready.
• Support clarification responses, amendment handling, and follow-ups during the evaluation stage.
• Contribute to contract discussions and the initial project handover after a win.
• Deliver product or software demonstrations and presentations as part of presales engagement.

What We’re Looking For

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline; a master’s degree is an added advantage.
• 5 to 8 years of experience in proposal management, particularly for Indian government IT projects.
• Strong ability to interpret business needs and translate them into proposal responses.
• Solid understanding of government tendering, procurement policies, and e-bidding systems.
• Good knowledge of IT services, emerging technologies, and market trends.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading ability with close attention to detail.
• Confidence in delivering software or product demos.
• Strong verbal and written communication, along with analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on proficiency with Microsoft Office and proposal management software/tools.
• Willingness to travel for client meetings and business-related work.
• Ability to handle multiple proposals at once and work effectively under tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of legal and regulatory compliance for Indian government IT projects is preferred.
